About the project

“Digital Silesian Traces” is a project combining cultural education, local heritage, and digital tools. Its aim is to develop participants’ cultural and creative competences through creative work with Silesian tradition and its modern interpretation.

The project includes intergenerational activities accessible to various audiences, including people with special needs. An important outcome will be the creation of a digital archive that will permanently preserve and disseminate the results of the participants’ work.

Process

We planned the implementation in stages. First, we prepare the project’s infrastructure, including the website and the structure of the digital archive, and then we carry out promotion and participant recruitment.

The main part of the project is a series of artistic workshops held from March to August 2025. It includes modules in music, dance, handicrafts, working with stories, and visual arts, delivered in a format that combines tradition with digital tools.

In parallel, we expand the archive with newly created materials. The final stage is preparing an exhibition, the project finale, and the evaluation and settlement of activities.

Impact

What changed thanks to the project

The project outcomes are educational and lasting. The plan includes 6 main activities, including 5 educational workshops and 1 presentation of creative work, as well as launching a website/online portal supporting the archive.

Ultimately, the project is to reach 775 recipients: 125 in-person participants, 250 online recipients, and 400 readers of the publication. In addition, 2 supplementary publications are planned (print run: 50 copies) and 10 people will be involved in delivering the task.

The most important long-term effect will be a digital archive of Silesian heritage co-created by participants. Thanks to this, the developed materials do not end with the event but remain available and educationally useful after the project concludes.
