About the project
“See You in Better Times” is a project delivered under the Folk High Schools Development Support Programme (PWRUL), focused on civic education and strengthening local communities. We worked with non-formal education methods, combining substantive content, hands-on practice, and group work.
We ran the activities in person, with a strong emphasis on accessibility for residents and regular contact with participants. The topics covered both personal and social skills development, as well as hands-on workshops and issues important to local community life.
Process
We divided the implementation into four stages. In the first phase, we prepared the project team, refined the schedule, launched promotional activities and recruitment, and strengthened cooperation with media partners and the local community.
The second phase was a series of educational events. We delivered 10 workshop meetings on varied topics, including jewellery-making, soap-making, floristry, macramé, sensory workshops, assertiveness, good habits in retirement, and workshops with elements of an urban game. The meetings followed a theory–practice–teamwork format, with ongoing technical support and photo/video documentation.
In the third stage, we carried out evaluation: qualitative surveys, conversations with participants, and analysis of communication activities (website and Facebook). The final phase covered closing the project in terms of content and organisation, along with fully organising the documentation.

Impact
What changed thanks to the project
The project achieved its planned goals and indicators, and some results exceeded targets. The strongest quantitative effect concerned brand awareness: we reached 12,784 against a target of 500. The indicator for event audiences also exceeded the plan (239 versus the assumed 160).
In the workshop component, we delivered 10 meetings and a total of 176 attendances, confirming strong demand for activities in the folk high school format. We also managed to maintain a stable group of active participants (25 people) and achieved a higher-than-planned result in participants’ personal development (13 versus a target of 6).
Beyond the numbers, an important outcome was a lasting relationship with participants and better alignment of topics with the community’s real needs. Regular evaluation made it possible to draw concrete conclusions and lay the groundwork for continuing the activities in future editions.
