About the project

EkoBuster Academy is a nationwide programme combining environmental education with practical action against climate disinformation. Participants develop fact-checking, source verification and OSINT skills, then use them through mentoring and project work.

In parallel, the accessible EkoBuster tool is being developed to support content analysis and credible, source-based responses.

Process

The first stage prepares the Academy curriculum, accessibility, data-protection and AI-ethics standards, and the tool architecture. After recruitment, twelve workshop modules, labs and mentoring begin, while EkoBuster moves from alpha to beta and pilot use.

In the next stage participants complete the learning path and join a nationwide hackathon. The project will produce campaign prototypes, “eco-proof” activities, a climate-disinformation report and a practical toolkit. EkoBuster will be developed into a public 1.0 release.

News and results

What is happening in the project

The programme plans 12 workshops, at least 200 trained people and mentoring for a minimum of 80 participants. The hackathon should produce at least 10 prototypes, while the materials and tool are intended to reach over 10,000 users. Lasting results will include EkoBuster 1.0, a report and an open toolkit.
